Association between inflammatory factor, lipid peroxidation and total-antioxidant in non-diabetic patients of coronary artery disease

چکیده
Introduction: The oxidative stress and inflammation are cooperative events involved in atherosclerosis development. In the present study, we assessed the association of malondialdehyde (MDA), antioxidant markers, high sensitive C-reactive protein (HS-CRP) and lipid status parameters in non-diabetic patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) or vessel heart disease (VHD). Significant risk factors such as diabetes were excluded from the study. Methods: Oxidative stress parameters for example MDA, antioxidant markers including: erythrocyte superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GPX), total antioxidant capacity (TAC), inflammation marker and serum lipid status parameters were measured in 120 subjects including 60 CAD patients (non-diabetic) with angiographically diagnosed CAD and 60 CAD-free subjects as a control group, also diabetic patients with malignancy, renal and liver disease, and other disease were excluded from the study. Results: The serum MDA and HS-CRP levels were increased significantly as compared to the controls. However, erythrocyte SOD, GPX activities and TAC level were reduced significantly in patients (non-diabetic) (P < 0.05 in all cases). The levels of total cholesterol, triglyceride, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-c) were significantly higher and that of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-c) was significantly lower than those of controls (P < 0.05 in all cases). Conclusion: The association between oxidative stress parameters, antioxidant markers, the inflammation index and lipid status parameters suggest their involvement in atherosclerosis development that may lead to CAD progression. Association of Inflammatory Mediators with Coronary Artery Disease in Diabetic Patients
Background and Objectives: Coronary artery disease (CAD) is regarded as the leading cause of morbidity and mortality around the world. Diabetes mellitus (DM) is associated with the development of CAD and increased risk of morbidity and mortality. The goal of this study was to assess the association of tumor necrosis factorα (TNF-α) and high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) with CAD severi...

Abstract Background and Objective: Diabetes mellitus is the most common risk factor for coronary artery disease (CAD). Cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) TaqIB polymorphism is associated with changes in lipid profile and may be a risk factor for CAD in patients with diabetes. This study aimed to evaluate the association of CETP TaqIB polymorphism with CAD in...

Coronary artery disease (CAD) is considered as a chronic inflammatory disease initiated from early childhood. Nuclear factor κB (NF κB) and κB1A (NF κB1A) are the key regulators of inflammatory responses. The NFKB1 -94ATTG ins/del and NFKB1A -826C/T polymorphisms may contribute to the development of CAD. The aim of the present study was to investigate the association of these polymorphisms wit...
متن کاملInsulin resistance and coronary artery disease in non-diabetic patients: Is there any correlation?
Background: Cardiovascular diseases are the most common causes of death in the world and type 2 diabetes is one of them because it is highly prevalent and doubles heart disease risk. Some studies suggest that insulin resistance is associated with coronary artery disease in non-diabetics. The aim of this study was to evaluate the association of insulin resistance (IR) and coronary artery disease...
